The Honda ES Shift Kit is currently available for these Honda ATV platforms: Honda Recon 250 (TRX250TE, 2002–2019), Honda Rancher 350 (TRX350FE/TE, 2000–2006), Honda Rancher 420 (TRX420FE/TE, coming soon), and Honda Foreman 450/500 (TRX450ES/FE 1998–2004, TRX500FE/TE/FPE 2005–2011). The Honda ES Shift Kit bypasses the angle sensor and ECU entirely, converting your ATV to direct manual thumb-button control. Instead of the factory computer reading sensor data to decide when to shift, the kit installs a sealed relay circuit wired straight to your stock OEM handlebar buttons. Press up or down — the relay fires, the gear changes. No angle sensor. No ECU. No computer in the loop. Your factory thumb buttons shift the ATV directly, every time.

Some Honda models were offered in both manual and ES (electric shift) versions from the factory. If your ATV is already an ES model (electric shift from Honda), you likely do not need our kit — the factory ES system performs this function. No. The Honda ES Shift Kit is completely bolt-on and plug-and-play. All mounting points are factory locations. All wiring is via plug connectors — no splicing, no cutting, no soldering. The kit can be completely removed to return the ATV to stock condition in the same time it took to install.

The vast majority of customers complete installation in 25–35 minutes. First-timers taking their time typically finish in under an hour. You'll need a 10mm socket, Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, and zip ties. All instructions are included, and a full video walkthrough is available via QR code in the box.

No prior mechanical experience is required. If you can change a tire or do basic maintenance on your ATV, you can install the Honda ES Shift Kit. The wiring connectors are color-coded and keyed, the hardware is labeled, and the included instructions walk you through every step with photos.

The Honda ES Shift Kit makes no permanent modifications to your ATV and can be fully removed. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your warranty simply because an aftermarket part was installed — they must demonstrate that the aftermarket part caused a specific failure. That said, warranty decisions are ultimately made by individual dealers. We recommend consulting your dealer if your ATV is currently under manufacturer warranty.

We offer a 30-day return policy on all uninstalled kits in original condition. If you've installed the kit and there's an issue, our 2-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship — contact our support team and we'll make it right.

The Honda ES Shift Kit 2-year warranty covers all defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This includes the actuator, wiring harness, and shift buttons. Damage from improper installation, crash damage, or misuse is not covered. Free US-based tech support is included for the life of the kit.
