Everything on the dash will work as before showing correct speed and gear position* 4wd, and all temp, oil, neutral, and reverse lights but the gear position indicator will flash warning the operator it is in bypass manual electric shift mode. * except early model trx450 es may only show 1st reverse and 5th gear.

If you can manually hand shift the transmission through all the gears with the emergency hand shifter.
It is located under the seat on the ATV.
Attach it to the shift nub on the left lower side of the motor.
Be sure you already checked Battery condition and connections.
