How to install Honda Recon 250 ES Shift Bypass Kit
Installation & Operation Guide for Honda Recon 250 ES
Step 1
Locate left handlebar switch connector by following the wires down from the left handlebar control switch assembly to the plug connector. It is located below the fuel tank and in front of motor.
Note : You MUST REMOVE the connector from the frame clip to unplug it. There will be a 8 wire connector plug for the 02-06 recon ES models, and a 10 wire connector plug for the 2007 and up ES models.
Connect the matching shift kit connectors and plug inline with the factory plug connectors and re attach to frame clip.
Step 2 :
Connect the round 2 wire shift motor plug from the kit into factory plug plug on the ES shift motor and it DOES NOT have to be removed from the frame clip to unplug it.
Route harness on left side of top frame rail.
Connect battery leads red to positive and black to negative on battery.
Secure all wiring and relays to the frame away from hot or moving parts.
Step 3 :
Route harness on left side of top frame rail.
Connect battery leads from shift kit with red to positive and black to negative on battery.
Secure all wiring and relays to the frame away from hot or moving parts.
Important Note.
YOU MUST REMOVE the connector from the frame clip to unplug the two large connectors. It has a safety lock.
