How to install Honda Recon 250 ES Shift Bypass Kit

Installation & Operation Guide for Honda Recon 250 ES

Route harness on left side of top frame rail.

Locate left handlebar switch its a large green connector below the fuel tank and in front of motor.

It will be a 8 wire connector for the 02-06 recon ES models, and a 10 wire connector for the 2007 and up models.

Connect the matching shift kit plug inline with it and re attach to frame clip.

Connect the round 2 wire shift motor plug from the shift motor into matching plug on the shift kit.

Connect battery leads red to positive and black to negative on battery.

Secure all wiring and relays to the frame away from hot or moving parts.

Important Note. YOU MUST REMOVE the connector from the frame clip to unplug the two large connectors. It has a safety lock.

After installation a clutch adjustment may be necessary to obtain smoother shifts. This should be done periodically for routine maintenance. How to adjust your clutch on youtube@hondaesshiftkit
